One of the most consumed spices in the world, Pepper, the fruit of the plant Piper nigrum. Black Pepper comes from the evergreen climbing tree Piper nigrum. Black pepper, green pepper and white peppercorns are the same fruit. Sri Lanka contributes as one of main suppliers of Pepper to satisfy the global demand for pepper.
