One of the most consumed spices in the world, Pepper, the fruit of the plant Piper nigrum. Black Pepper comes from the evergreen climbing tree Piper nigrum. Black pepper, green pepper and white peppercorns are the same fruit.  Sri Lanka contributes as one of main suppliers of Pepper to satisfy the global demand for pepper.  Ceylon Pepper is rich in Piperine, which gives Ceylon Pepper its distinct pungency and a premium price in the global market driven by its plenitude of the alkaloid.

Uses of pepper, in addition to traditional use in the food industry, are also spreading to other aspects of human life as beverages, perfume, cosmetics, medicines insecticides, and fungicides. Black pepper is known to be a rich source of nutrients such as Thiamine, Riboflavin, Vitamin C, E, B6, and K. The spice is also a source of minerals like Zinc, Magnesium, Sodium, Phosphorous, and Calcium. Our farmers supply high-density black pepper, White pepper with Organic integrity which is grown in Organic Tea gardens of the South.

Ahinsa Tea

For several decades, we have exerted great efforts to produce labor and nature friendly tea in Sri Lanka. The dream became a reality when Ahinsa Tea was originally produced in 1999 in a small tea estate, namely the Nilmini Estates in the southern part of Sri Lanka.
