The rhizomes are used fresh or boiled in water and dried, after which they are ground into a deep orange-yellow powder commonly used as a coloring and flavoring agent in many Asian cuisines, especially for curries, and it’s also added to beverages like tea.  Characteristics imparted by the principal turmeric constituent, is curcumin.   Turmeric has been used in Asia for centuries and is a major part of Ayurveda, Siddha medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Curcumin has prebiotic-like properties which enable it to make changes to the gut micro biota and support the gut-immune connection. Additionally, curcumin may help promote optimal immune responses ;through its prebiotic-like properties, omega-3 boosting ability, and cortisol-lowering effects. This is found to be having higher Curcumin levels with Sri Lankan verities and our farming communities are grown them with Organic and sustainable principles.
